Broke out my bike today and did my own art walk in the Mission. You’d be amazed what kind of talent is out there and how people do this just for the hell of it.
Haze X HUF skate deck from a black friday sale. Eric Haze is someone that I’ve admired since my days. Truly a stand out in the industry of graphics and arts.
We’re on a rooftop in the Mission this year for Halloween 2011. This is one of those parties where you go with someone that knows someone else that wants to bang some guy that she met at another party before this one. Girls will go where the penis goes and I will go where the alcohol goes.
Stop number two. White people just know how to do it right. Why pay to go into an expensive club when you can just bring the club to your own backyard.
Stopped by Mezzanine Sunday for the Walker Ryan pro party with performances by J-Billion, Rob Young, Pep-Love from the Hieroglyphics, and The Jacka.
J-Billion with a swagger over a hundred gah-shmillion.
I never was and still am not a fan of the Hieroglyphics Crew (Wu-Tang stole my heart first) but Pep-Love can still rock with the best of them.
Karl Watson introduces Walker Ryan to his well deserved pro ranks. After his speech, they showed Walker Ryan’s pro video part. I actually first heard of him from the 510 Skate shop video but didn’t really think much of him at the time. This dude has progressed like no other and has been killing it ever since. His Concrete Jungle part remains to be one of my favorites today. Make sure to get his board when it comes out and support a local Bay Area pro.
Jocks vs skaters. The never ending battle of the poster boy meat head and the misfit social outcast. Usually these things are a recipe for disaster but sometimes they work out to everyone’s advantage. WIth the help of the Giants, Thrasher Mag actually got permission to setup shop in McCovey Cove so some of SF finest skaters could shred the mini. Even with the cold winds, some marvelous shit went down. Top it off, the Giants beat the Rockies and Lakers are sucking mad dick! (I just had to throw that in there)
Chalk this up as one of the many things that I love to hate. Benny Gold is a designer, store owner, entrepreneur and one hell of a nice guy. He embodies everything that I once aspired to be and is an example of what hard work can lead to in achieving success within one’s self. His new store front had opened up on Saturday and I for one am all about support with local shops that represent the very things I enjoy.
The man BGeezy himself. I actually think he was more hyped on me buying the skateboard to get it signed by the pros but I had to have him lace his Johnny Hancock on my wood for sure. (Sorry with the double entendres. I ‘ve come to realize my writing skills are pretty much gone).
The man I wanted to see. I have my top 5 skaters of all time and Dennis Busenitz ranks at a solid number two or three next to Daewon Song.
Got my winnings in the mail today. I must say, Slap does have its advantages for being a forum member whether it’s getting a free t-shirt or getting free passes to the Real video premiere. This is what you get for sending in an e-mail for a contest.
